Welcome to my food journey and to bits and pieces of my life both food related and life in general.
I love food – cooking it, eating it, playing with it, talking about it. Then one day someone conned me into writing about it, so here I am.
I have a discerning palate that constantly longs for good food. You know… food that you can experience with all of your five senses. Food that teases you as it simmers, pops or crackles on the stove; lures you in with its smell; mesmerizes you the minute it’s placed before you; cripples you as you experience it’s texture in your mouth and ultimately brings a SMILE to your face upon taste. Now that’s good food!
You’ll see that my tastes lean more toward Asian food, anything made with chicken, cheese, pasta or a good steak. I was fortunate to have been born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii – in such a culturally diverse environment. I’ve grown up eating what most Westerners would consider Fear Factor Food. My explanation, and certainly not an excuse, is that it’s part of my culture or the mixed melting pot that I grew up in. I now call Las Vegas, Nevada “home” .
My love for food, cooking or anything involving the culinary arts continues to grow each day. I don’t work in the food industry but instead spend most of my waking hours as a desk jockey – paralegal by day, barely legal at night (well, somewhat, age is creeping up on me).
